For KNCMAP AI Web Assistant Chrome Extension Users:

What the Extension Collects:

• Technical Settings: Local browser storage of user preferences (API endpoint configuration, enableLogging setting)
• Temporary Processing Data: Current webpage content (only when extension is actively used) for executing user-requested tasks
• User Instructions: Natural language commands provided by the user

What the Extension Does NOT Collect:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone)
• Browsing history or web activity tracking
• Login credentials, passwords, or authentication data
• Financial or payment information
• Location or GPS data
• Personal communications or messages

Data Processing Flow:

1. User activates the extension on a webpage
2. Extension analyzes visible page content only (forms, buttons, text)

5. API returns action instructions (no data stored)

7. All processed data is discarded after task completion

• Data Sent: Current webpage content + user instruction only

• API Data Retention: No storage or logging of processed content
• Security: All communications use HTTPS encryption

Local Storage:

• Only stores technical preferences (API settings, logging flags)
• Data remains in user's local browser storage only
• Users can clear this data anytime via Chrome extension settings
• No personal data is stored or transmitted

Extension Permissions Justification:

• activeTab: Access only to currently active tab when user interacts with extension
• storage: Save user preferences locally in browser
• scripting: Execute user-requested actions on webpages
• sidePanel: Display extension interface
• <all_urls>: Work on websites where user chooses to use the extension
